26 year-old Holly Gerlach was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder just 3 weeks after giving birth to her first child.
It all started rather innocently: with a pain in her neck and a feeling of weaknes in her legs. 12 hours after these symptoms set in, she could no longer walk on her own. 72 hours later, and she was completely paralyzed and couldn’t even breathe without assistance! She was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit in the hospital and put on a breathing ventilator and fed through a feeding tube. Even when things seemed at it’s worst and life was no longer living, she STILL did not give up. Eventually, Holly made a full recovery and astounded even her doctors.
