If someone suddenly becomes violent on public transport, passengers often don't know how to react. Intervene? Call the police? Film the incident to provide evidence?
The passengers on a Toronto subway did all of the above when they witnessed an awful scene unfold before their eyes:

The woman was eventually escorted off the train by three transit workers. It's still unclear whether the woman will face any legal action because of her cruel treatment of the small dog.
It's unbelievable how calm the man who confronted her remained. It's a good thing he didn't just turn a blind eye.
