want longer, stronger nails?

Ela Gale demonstrates a simple, DIY method using fresh orange juice, crushed garlic, and olive oil to improve nail growth.

To make the nail soak, mix the fresh orange juice and crushed garlic into a bowl. Simply soak nails in the orange and garlic mixture for 15 minutes. Pour out the mixture and wash your hands. Next, pour a quarter of a cup of olive oil into the same bowl and allow your nails to soak for five minutes.

To experiment with the technique, Gale used the method twice a week for two weeks only on one hand. She compared the treated hand with her untreated hand and found "a significant difference in the nail growth."

"I'm really excited about this recipe because I didn't know much about nail soaks before I did it and it really seems to work for me," Gale says.

Gale's nail soak has been promoted on StyleCaster, along with other DIY nail soaks intended to whiten nails, moisturize hands, and promote overall healthy nails.
